Lawrence Arms Show

Given it was a Sunday show, there were a surprising number of audience members, but then, it was an early all-ages show.  Those are always more crowded because all the kiddies are allowed in until the 10 o’clock curfew.

Rowdy Crowd

The moment singer and bassist Brendan Kelly opened his mouth for sound check, the crowd got anxious. 

At least a dozen people pushed forward and threw their hands in the air toward him. Shortly after, a small mosh pit opened up compliments of a large under-aged fan.  His love for the band took over his body and he moved as if he was drunk from the sound, running into anyone and everyone unfortunate enough to get in his way, including me.

I’m all for showing excitement and passion for music, and I’m even up for a good mosh pit on ccasion, but this guy invaded people’s space too many times. It was hard to enjoy the show because everyone had to keep some focus on him so as not to get knocked over.
