UNITED ACTION FOR YOUTH

HOME

Iowa City offers many resources for young parents. One of these resources is United Action for Youth, or UAY, a non-profit organization that provides services for boys and girls, ages 12-18.

One of the most popular aspects of the UAY organization is the Teen Parent Program. The program offers services to teen parents, up to the age of 20 and sometimes beyond, which are tailored to the specific needs of each growing family. The goal of the program is to offer support and education for young parents so they may become well-educated and experienced parents to their children.

Aside from support in the form of groups and parent workshops, as well as childcare opportunities, and transitional living for homeless familes, the "core" of the program are the home visits. For more information on home visits or to learn more about the Young Mothers Group, click the links below.

To learn more about UAY, visit their website or go in person to 355 Iowa Avenue, Iowa City.
