LIVING UNDER THE CANOPY

Iowa City has always prospered in the illustrious arena of art. A canopy of high art floats above the small college city.

Yet bustling below this canopy is a community of art groundlings. There are musicians, filmmakers, artists, writers and even puppeteers - and they're all twentysomethings with little to no recognition.

This site is here solely for the purpose of advocating and presentng the unique art that lies below the canopy of art found in galleries and coffee shops across Iowa City.

By sharing their stories and their art, this site can perhaps propel them through the tree limbs to the top of the canopy.
