I play football ...

and you want to know about it.

You've come to the right place.

Welcome... I'm Roseanna Smith, a 22-year-old senior at the University of Iowa, who doubles as a professional football player in Des Moines on the weekends.

So, you think I'm cool? I can see that. How often do you see a woman walking around wearing shoulder pads? I do pretty often, but maybe you don't.

If you think I'm a silly, self-promoter, I can see that too. I am, after all, publishing a website dedicated to my pursuit of football.

But, the real deal is that I'm designing a website to inform, educate and update the 90 percent of the population who doesn't know about women's football, that it even exists.

Maybe a 12-year-old girl who wants to play football, will. Girls now play football too.

Maybe those who say women can't play will change their minds.

Maybe nothing will happen.

But, I'm willing to take that chance. Read on.

My little brother, Matthew, who graduates from West High School this year, walked me across the field at Brady Street Stadium for Senior Night in 2000. In 2003, I had the honor of walking him across for his senior night in October.
